Laptop Screen Replacement — from diagnosis to warranty
A laptop screen usually cracks for one of two reasons: it was dropped, or it warped on its own around the hinges. In the shop we see an average of 8-12 such cases a week. If your screen is cracked, flickering, or showing black or colored lines — in most cases we can replace the panel in a single day.
How to tell whether it’s just the panel or something more
Before replacing anything, we run some checks. The fastest test: connect an external monitor over HDMI. If the image shows up on the monitor but the laptop screen stays black — the problem is in the panel or the LVDS cable. If the monitor also stays black, the culprit may be the motherboard or the graphics chip.
Second test: press gently on the edges of the screen. If the colors shift or blotches appear — the panel is damaged internally. This type of fault can’t be repaired, only replaced.

Original or compatible panel — how we choose
For most models we offer two options. Original (AU Optronics, LG, Samsung — depending on what the laptop used from the factory) — pricier, a perfect fit, manufacturer’s warranty. A quality compatible panel — same dimensions and technical specs, about 25-35% cheaper, with a 6–12 month warranty. Honestly, for most users a compatible panel is an excellent choice. The difference in color and brightness is minimal.
We don’t work with the cheapest Chinese panels. We’ve been there — they last 3 to 6 months and then stop working — pixels die, the image flickers, or the controller fails. Not worth it.
Drop it off at a location or send it by courier
We have three locations in Belgrade: Arena, Piramida (both in New Belgrade) and Centar, near the Botanical Garden. If you can’t come in yourself, give us a call — a courier picks up the device from your address, we do the replacement, and the courier brings it back. The whole thing takes 1-2 business days.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a screen replacement take?
The technical work itself takes 30–60 minutes. With diagnosis, ordering the part if we don’t have it in stock, and testing — usually 1-2 business days. For rare models (older MacBook Air, some Asus ZenBook) it can take 3–5 days until the part arrives.
What if the screen doesn’t fit or the color isn’t the same as the old one?
In that case we return the part to the supplier and try another one. We guarantee the panel will be right in the end — you don’t pay until you’re satisfied. It happens rarely (one case in 50 replacements), but even then we sort it out.
Can I get the cable and panel to try it myself?
You can buy a panel from us at cost if you want to try it yourself. Honestly — without experience and the right tools, there’s a 30-40% chance you’ll break the frame or the LVDS connector. Think it over before you start.
Do I get a warranty on the new panel?
Yes. Original panels carry a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty. Compatible panels — 6 to 12 months, depending on the supplier. The warranty covers factory defects (dead pixels, color loss), not mechanical damage (if the screen gets dropped again).
