Lenovo Laptop & Computer Repair in Belgrade

Lenovo makes a very wide range — from the rugged business ThinkPads, through the IdeaPad models for home, to Legion gaming machines and Yoga 2-in-1 devices. Each line has its own character and its own typical faults. We see them every day in the shop and know where each one “likes” to break.

How to find your exact Lenovo model

Lenovo uses a Machine Type Model (MTM) — a combination of digits and letters that identifies the device exactly (e.g. 82H8…). Where to find it:

  • The label on the bottom of the laptop — the line marked “Type” or MTM
  • The Lenovo Vantage app in Windows — the home screen shows the model and serial number
  • Or Win+R → cmd → wmic csproduct get name,version

It is not required — say “Lenovo IdeaPad” or “Legion 5, black” and describe the problem; we’ll work out the rest.

The most common Lenovo laptop faults

The Legion won’t wake from sleep (sleep bug)

The Legion 5, 5 Pro and 7 have a well-known problem: the NVMe SSD goes into a deep sleep it sometimes refuses to wake from, so it looks as if the laptop “won’t turn on”. It is not an SSD fault but a BIOS bug — a BIOS update fixes about 80% of cases, the rest is an SSD replacement (often a factory Samsung PM with a documented firmware bug).

Hinges and a wobbly screen (IdeaPad, Yoga)

On the IdeaPad and Yoga lines the hinges and the plastic around them tend to give way. On the Yoga especially (which folds 360°), because the hinges work twice as hard. We repair it before it pulls on the screen’s ribbon cable.

Legion overheating

The gaming Legions pull a lot of air and so collect dust quickly. When they start to choke and thermal-throttle, cleaning + a repaste restores performance.

Battery and keyboard (ThinkPad)

ThinkPads are durable, but after years the battery weakens and the keyboard (which gets heavily used) wears out or a key fails. Both are replaceable.

Frequently asked questions

My Lenovo Legion won't turn on or wake from sleep — what is it?
On the Legion 5, 5 Pro and 7 this is usually the known sleep bug: the NVMe SSD goes into a deep sleep it won't wake from, so it looks as if the laptop won't turn on. It is not a fault but a BIOS bug — a BIOS update fixes about 80% of cases, and the rest is an SSD replacement. We check which it is during the inspection.
Do you service the ThinkPad and is it worth maintaining?
Yes, the ThinkPad lines (T, X, E, L, P) are among the most durable laptops and are worth maintaining. A new battery and an SSD/RAM upgrade extend their life by several more years. For companies with several ThinkPads we service multiple devices by arrangement.
My Legion overheats when I game — what should I do?
The gaming Legions pull a lot of air and so collect dust in the heatsink quickly. When they start to choke and thermal-throttle, cleaning and fresh thermal paste restore performance. We recommend doing it regularly, not only once it starts shutting down.
How do I bring a Lenovo in and how much does it cost?
Diagnostics are free, and we tell you the exact price after the inspection — rough prices are in the price list. You bring the device to one of our three shops in Belgrade (Arena, Piramida, Centar) or send it by courier, and it comes back to you by courier once repaired.
