MSI Laptop & Computer Repair in Belgrade

MSI is first and foremost a gaming brand — the Katana, Sword, Stealth, Raider and GF/GE lines — alongside the Creator models for designers and the Modern line for work. The gaming MSI laptops are powerful but run hot, so they are frequent guests of ours for cleaning and temperature maintenance.

How to find your exact MSI model

An MSI model is a code such as Katana GF66 or GP66 Leopard. Where it is:

  • The label on the bottom — the model name + serial number (S/N)
  • The MSI Center app in Windows
  • Or Win+R → cmd → wmic csproduct get name

Say “MSI gaming, black, 15 inch” + the problem, and we’ll work out the rest.

The most common MSI laptop faults

Overheating and thermal throttling

MSI gaming laptops have powerful processors and graphics cards in a relatively thin chassis, so they run hot by nature. When the heatsink fills with dust and the thermal paste dries out, temperatures jump, games start to lag and the laptop shuts down. Cleaning + quality fresh paste (and liquid metal on the stronger models if the model tolerates it) restores performance. For MSI this is routine maintenance, every 6–12 months.

Fans (noise, seizing)

Over time the fans tend to get noisy (a worn bearing) or slow down from dust. We clean them, and when the bearing is gone — we replace the fan.

Battery and charging

The gaming chargers are powerful (180–280W), the connector wears out; the battery weakens after a couple of years. Both are sorted.

Upgrades

Most MSI models have free slots for RAM and an additional SSD — an easy upgrade when you need more.

Gaming MSI — advice from the shop

If you game on an MSI and notice the fans constantly spinning at maximum or the FPS dropping after a few minutes of play — that is a sign the heatsink needs cleaning. Don’t wait for a shutdown. Regular cleaning protects both the graphics card and the processor.

Frequently asked questions

My gaming MSI overheats — what should I do?
MSI gaming laptops have powerful processors and graphics in a thin chassis, so they run hot by nature. When the heatsink fills with dust and the paste dries out, temperatures jump, games lag and the laptop shuts down. Cleaning and quality fresh paste (and liquid metal on the stronger ones if it tolerates it) restore performance — for MSI this is routine maintenance every 6–12 months.
My fan is noisy or roaring — can it be repaired?
Yes. Over time the fans start to get noisy from a worn bearing, or slow down from dust. We clean them first, and when the bearing is gone — we replace the fan. We work out which it is during the inspection.
Can I upgrade an MSI (RAM, SSD)?
Usually yes — most MSI models have free slots for RAM and an additional SSD, so upgrading is easy when you need more memory or space. We check what your model supports during the inspection.
How does an MSI repair work and what does it cost?
Diagnostics are free, we tell you the exact price after the inspection before any work, and rough prices are in the price list. You bring the device to one of our three shops in Belgrade (Arena, Piramida, Centar) or send it by courier, and it comes back to you by courier once repaired.
