MacBook repair in Belgrade — all common faults and fixes

We service MacBook computers — Air and Pro, both older Intel and new Apple Silicon models (M1, M2, M3, M4) — from diagnostics and screen or battery replacement, through liquid damage and logic-board repair, to data recovery. We are an independent service: we don’t sell Apple warranties and we’re not an authorised service centre, but we do the technical work well, more affordably and without long waits. In Belgrade, for individuals, students and companies.

Diagnostics without disassembly are free, we confirm the price before any work, and we give a warranty on the repair. Bring the device to one of our three shops or send it to us by courier — we repair it and send it back by courier.

Which MacBook models we service

  • MacBook Air (Intel and M1/M2/M3)
  • MacBook Pro 13″, 14″, 15″, 16″ (Intel and M1/M2/M3/M4 Pro/Max)
  • Older MacBook and MacBook Pro Retina, as well as Touch Bar models

Tell us the model (or the serial number) and describe the fault — we’ll know right away what it’s about and what to check.

The most common MacBook faults we fix

MacBook won’t turn on or won’t charge

It can be the charger or cable (MagSafe/USB‑C), the SMC/charging controller, or a fault on the logic board. Don’t force it — diagnostics separate a cheap cause (charger) from a serious one (board), then we give a price before the work.

Battery — “Service Battery”, poor runtime or swollen

After many cycles the battery weakens; macOS may report “Service Recommended”. If the battery is swollen — stop using the laptop and get in touch immediately, as it can press on the trackpad and screen and become dangerous. We replace batteries for all MacBook models, with a warranty (battery replacement).

Screen — cracked, lines, dark, “flexgate”

We replace cracked and faulty screens; some MacBook Pro models are known for “flexgate” (the backlight cable wears and cracks, causing a dark band at the bottom or loss of backlight). We determine whether it’s the panel, the flex cable or the graphics on the board (screen replacement).

Keyboard — sticky or dead keys (butterfly)

On models with the “butterfly” keyboard (2016–2019), sticky, double or dead keys are common. We fix it by cleaning or replacing the mechanism/keyboard, depending on the model.

Liquid damage

Coffee, water, juice — liquid causes corrosion on the board and it spreads. It’s urgent: switch off immediately, don’t power on or charge, and bring it in as soon as possible. We do ultrasonic board cleaning and repair of damaged traces; the sooner you come, the better the chances.

Overheating, noisy fans, shutdowns

Dust and old thermal paste raise temperatures, so the fans “race”, the MacBook slows down (throttling) or shuts off. Cleaning and fresh paste bring back quieter, cooler running (cleaning out dust).

Slow performance or no disk space

A full disk and a cluttered system slow macOS down. We free up space, refresh or reinstall macOS (keeping your data), and advise whether an upgrade makes sense.

Trackpad, speakers, camera, Wi‑Fi, ports

A trackpad that won’t click (often due to a swollen battery underneath), quiet or crackling speakers, a camera that isn’t recognised, weak Wi‑Fi, faulty USB‑C ports — we diagnose all of it and repair or replace the part.

Won’t boot — “prohibited” sign, question mark, kernel panic

A crossed-out circle, a flashing folder with a question mark or constant restarts (kernel panic) — we work through macOS Recovery, system repair or a clean reinstall, and if it’s hardware (SSD/board) we tell you exactly what it is.

Logic-board repair

We do component-level repair — power, charging controllers, chip reball/reflow, traces damaged after liquid. It’s often more cost-effective than replacing the whole device; we give an estimate after the diagnosis (motherboard repair).

Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) — what’s different

On newer MacBooks the SSD and RAM are soldered to the board — they can’t be upgraded or easily replaced the classic way. So for those models:

  • Memory/storage upgrades aren’t possible as on older models — it’s important to choose the right configuration when buying.
  • Data recovery is specialised — if the board fails, the data is on a soldered chip; we also do data recovery from MacBook drives, with an honest view of how far our reach goes.

That’s why on a MacBook one rule matters especially: regular backups (Time Machine or the cloud), so a board failure doesn’t also mean data loss.

How it works

Bring your MacBook to one of our three shops in Belgrade or send it by courier; for companies we also come on-site. First comes a free diagnosis — what the fault is and what it costs. We confirm the price before the work, and all prices are in our official price list. We send the device back by courier, with a warranty on the repair.

Why an independent service

An independent service is usually cheaper and faster, without long appointment waits. We use quality and original parts, do component-level repairs that authorised centres often don’t (they replace the whole board instead), and tell you honestly when a repair is worth it and when it isn’t. We use the names Apple and MacBook only to describe which devices we service — we are not an authorised Apple service.

Frequently asked questions

Do you service Apple Silicon MacBooks (M1, M2, M3)?
Yes — we work on both Intel and Apple Silicon models. On M‑chips the SSD and RAM are soldered, so upgrades aren't possible, but we do diagnostics, board repair and data recovery.
My MacBook battery is swollen — what should I do?
Stop using the laptop and get in touch immediately. A swollen battery presses on the trackpad and screen and can be dangerous; we replace it with a warranty.
I spilled liquid on my MacBook — is there a chance?
There is, but it's urgent: switch off immediately, don't power on or charge, and bring it in as soon as possible. We do ultrasonic board cleaning; the sooner you come, the better.
Can data be recovered from a MacBook that won't turn on?
Often yes. On newer models the SSD is soldered, so recovery is specialised — the assessment is free, and we tell you honestly how far our reach goes.
How much does MacBook service cost?
It depends on the fault and the model; indicative figures are in the price list, and we confirm the exact price after a free diagnosis, before the work.
