Virus and Malware Removal
Your computer is suddenly slow, ads you never asked for keep popping up, your browser redirects you to strange sites, or your antivirus has flagged a threat it can’t get rid of. These are classic signs that there’s malware on the device. We clean it every day and we know where it hides.
The worst-case scenario is ransomware — when your files get locked and a payment is demanded to unlock them. Here every hour counts, because a wrong move (for example, continuing to use the computer) can permanently destroy any chance of recovering something.
Most common symptoms / when you need this
- The computer runs noticeably slower, stuttering right from startup
- Ads, pop-up windows and new tabs appear that you never opened
- Your browser’s home page or search engine has changed without your knowledge
- Unknown programs and tools in the tray that launch on their own
- Your antivirus is turned off or won’t let you turn it back on
- Files have strange extensions and won’t open (ransomware), along with a ransom message
- Your email or Facebook account is sending messages you didn’t send
- The processor and disk run at 100% while the computer is idle (a hidden cryptocurrency miner)
Exactly what we do
We don’t rely on a single click in some tool. We work through it step by step:
- We review the processes that launch at startup and manually shut down anything that doesn’t belong to the system
- We scan the device with several different tools, because no single one catches absolutely everything
- We remove trojans, advertising add-ons (adware), miners and fake system “cleaners”
- We clean the browser of hijacked extensions, fake tabs and redirects
- With ransomware, we first isolate the device, check whether a known decryptor exists and try to recover data from shadow copies
- We return Windows to a stable state, update the system and close the holes the infection came in through
- We advise you on what to change (passwords, habits, antivirus) so it doesn’t happen again
If the system is so damaged that cleaning it makes no sense, we’ll tell you honestly and recommend a clean reinstall while preserving your data. Read more on our laptop repair and desktop repair pages.
How it works
You have two options. You can bring the device to one of our three locations in Belgrade (Arena, Piramida and Centar near the Botanical Garden), or you can call a courier — the courier picks the device up from your address and returns it repaired once we’re done.
Diagnostics are free as long as the device doesn’t need to be opened up. First we take a look at what’s going on, then we let you know what the problem is and how much it costs to fix — only then do we get started. The price of the work is in our price list, and we don’t do anything until we’ve agreed on it. You can also track the repair status online through our status check.
Why choose us
- Warranty on our work. If the same problem comes back within the warranty period, we fix it at no charge.
- Experience. We clean infections every single day, from ordinary adware to serious ransomware — we know the difference between what can be cleaned and what calls for a reinstall.
- No made-up work. We don’t charge for work that isn’t needed. If deleting a single extension is enough, we won’t try to sell you a reinstall.
- Your data stays yours. We do our best to preserve everything and don’t touch anything that isn’t connected to the problem.
Frequently asked questions
Will I lose my data if you clean the virus for me?
In the vast majority of cases, no. Malware can usually be removed without touching your files. If the situation is such that a reinstall is needed, we first make a copy of your data and only then get started.
My files are locked and a payment is demanded — can I get them back?
It depends on which type of ransomware it is. For some, free decryptors exist; for others, unfortunately, they don’t. Never pay the ransom before someone qualified takes a look — bring the device in or call a courier, and let’s see the real chances.
My antivirus says everything is clean, but the computer still acts strange. What now?
Commercial antivirus doesn’t catch absolutely everything, especially adware and hijacked browser extensions. We manually review the processes and startup, so we find what the program misses too.
